ECCA 25 mile TT & Newbury Velo TT, 15 & 16 May 2021

ECCA 25mile TT F2A/25

Prior to the event I was looking forward to racing on this course again. Competing in my first 25 mile TT of the year, I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. During my warm up the rain started and was on and off the entire race making visibility hard at times. I got a great start and managed to pace it evenly, with the conditions being much harder on the return leg of the course. It was a good race considering the conditions - I managed to get a time of 1:02:35. This is a new 25mile PB for me by 1min 51sec, a course PB by 3min 26sec and along with other members of Kettering CC a new women’s club record by 10mins 7sec!

Newbury Velo TT F11/10

After the 25mile TT the day before I wasn’t feeling 100%, with achy shoulders and back. I was looking forward to competing again on this course after getting a new 10mile PB last year. I didn’t get a great start, not getting my foot in first time. I found it really tough to the first turn, with the middle longest stretch feeling really fast, then hard again to the finish. However even with the fatigue and conditions I managed a 24:02, a 10 mile PB by 20 seconds, meaning 2 PBs in 2 days!
